The image of people dowsing for chemical fires springs to mind.

You can also use it for cooking, but that's nowhere near as much fun.

The only one up there I didn't know about was goat eating it! had no idea...
I'd like to expand on #2
because it's great to use for scrubbing pots and pans (wet them, sprinkle it on and scrub with a cloth/sponge) as well as bathtubs. Also, I use it to maintain my drains once a month: 1) Put on some water to boit. 2) While you are waiting for the water to boil, pour some baking soda down the drain. 3)just as the water is about to boil, pour down a good amount of white vinegar and let it bubble for a minute. 4) pour the boiling water down the drain. I like to try this first, too, if the drain is clogged instead of draino or a plumber. It's also great for kids' party games: (Do this outside!!) give each child a cup with some vinegar in it and let them drop in food colouring to make whatever colour they want. Then get them to put the cups on the ground and go around and put a tsp to tbs of baking soda in each - they squeal and jump and love seeing their very own multi-coloured volcanos. (Of course, they were all 5 years old... ;) )
